As a way to honor LGBT Pride Month, which takes place every year in June in remembrance of 1969’s Stonewall riots in Manhattan, NYC, Global Americans compiled a list of five young Latin Americans that are leading the LGBTQ+ cause on the political frontline.
By the time 2018 draws to a close, three quarters of Latin Americans will have elected a new president. Though often taken for granted, the commissions responsible for ensuring free and fair elections will play a critical role in regional politics this year.
Between 2010 and 2016, the foreign-born population grew by 15 percent or more in 15 states, most of which are concentrated in the North-Central region of the country. For August’s Top of the Month, we will look at the top five U.S. states with the fastest-growing foreign-born populations.
